How to install Bi Fold Aluminium shutters

Small Parts

  1. Bottom Pivot
  2. Top Pivot
    Pivots are used for end panels. An end panel in an LLLLRRRR will be Panel 1 and 8 (From left)
    An end panel in an LLLL will be panel number 1. An end panel in an RRRR will be panel number 4
  3. Bottom track guide
  4. Top track guide
    Track guides are used on every second panel of the same direction L or R, for example in an LLLLLLĀ (2,4,6).
    For an LLRR panel arrangement track guides will be installed on 2 and 3.
    For an LLLLLLRRRRRR 12 panel arrangement track guides will be installed on 2, 4, 6, 7 , 9, 10, 11

1 – Fix top track

  1. Slide required top pivot/s (2) and top track guides (4) into top track.
    Keep the pivots finger tight at this stage to adjust at a later stage
  2. Fix top track.
    There will be a few mm on either side so please install central with even gaps on either side
  3. Put pelmets (2x L profiles for each opening) aside to install at the final stages

2 – Fix bottom track

  1. Slide required bottom pivot/s (1) and bottom track guides (3) into bottom track.
    Keep the pivots finger tight at this stage to adjust at a later stage
  2. Fix bottom track.
    There will be a few mm on either side so please install central with even gaps on either side

3 – Install end panels

  1. Install end panels into top and bottom pivot points (1,2)
  2. Adjust panel to have a 6mm gap to wall/frame
    If opening is not square ensure gap is minimum 6mm
  3. Tighten top and bottom pivot

4 – Install remaining panels

  1. Install remaining panels after end panels are adjusted
  2. Adjust top guide height as you install
  3. Install inside and outside Pelmets beside top track
    You will require a long screwdriver/impact driver bit

Now to get rid of all that rubbish šŸ™‚

Most tips/transfer stations take cardboard for free as it is recyclable so please separate from polystyrene and recycle.
