Our Story

We started DIY Plantation Shutters in 2016 with a simple purpose: make high-quality custom plantation shutters more accessible for capable Australian DIY customers. For nearly a decade, we have helped homeowners choose the right shutter range, measure accurately and install with confidence.

Today, our main focus is Australian-made custom PVC shutters, especially EasyKit DIY and EasyShutter Pre-Assembled. EasyKit DIY is our recommended starting point for standard indoor windows when a more substantial timber-like feel, aluminium reinforcement and wider-span support matter. When less site assembly is the priority, EasyShutter Pre-Assembled is the preferred path. SmartKit remains a separate lightweight option for buyers who prioritise easier handling and straightforward DIY assembly.

A Factory-Direct Fresh Start

On 1 May 2025, DIY Plantation Shutters moved to a factory-direct model. This transition gave us direct control over production, quality checks, dispatch coordination and customer support, so we could build a more reliable experience for every customer.

We also want to be transparent about the period before that change. Between July 2024 and February 2025, some customers experienced unacceptable delays, fulfilment failures, and slow or missing responses from customer service. We sincerely apologise to every customer affected during that time.

Since the 1 May 2025 transition, we have rebuilt the way orders are reviewed, manufactured and supported. Our goal is not to hide from the past, but to show clearly what has changed: direct factory control, stronger pre-production checks, clearer warranty coverage and a more accountable customer-service process.

The process was easy and they had plenty of options but to top it off the price was great! When it came to delivery we had selected pick up....well because of covid we couldn't do that and within 10 seconds of telling them this they had organized shipping and was picked up that day. A few days later delivered! Bloody legends! After getting about 200 tools ready for the dreaded install, I opened the boxes and really didn't need much at all.
